SPIKE JONES IN Hi-Fi 1959 WB Mono 1st Press B1332 Vampira Halloween EX/VG

Spike Jones spent his career sending up popular music genres, and for this 1959 outing he turned his "Band That Plays For Fun" loose on the monster movie craze. The record leans on voice work as much as music — Paul Frees runs through Dracula, a Karloff-style Frankenstein, and a Hitchcock impression, while Loulie Jean Norman voices Vampira opposite him on morbid love-song duets.

This is an original US first pressing on Warner Bros Records, B 1332.

Matrix carries a V1 designation on both sides, matching the documented first lacquer cut for this release.

Pressed in monophonic sound, distributed by Warner Bros.

Produced by Alvino Rey, arranged by Carl Brandt.

Cover art by Jim Jonson depicts the cast of monsters gathered around an operating table, with the "Spooktacular in Screaming Sound" tagline dripping across the top in horror-movie lettering.

Gray Warner Bros label with the WB shield, "Vitaphonic High Fidelity" printed around the rim.

Inner sleeve is a later archival replacement, not the original paper sleeve.
