Spinal Tap's gloriously overblown soundtrack returns as a 2025 remaster, cut by Bernie Grundman from the original stereo analogue tapes for UMR/Polydor. First released in 1984 to accompany Rob Reiner's mock-rock film, This Is Spinal Tap remains a deadpan send-up of heavy metal excess, stuffed with faux-stadium anthems like 'Hell Hole', 'Tonight I'm Gonna Rock You Tonight' and the bass-quake classic 'Big Bottom'. The LP also swings into music-hall parody on 'Cups And Cakes' and hippie whimsy with '(Listen To The) Flower People'. This edition lands ahead of the planned Spinal Tap sequel slated for 2025, a timely excuse to revisit the band's immortal loud-but-dim mythology on vinyl.
