Description
On offer is a 7” EP record titled THE SPIRIT – 3830 and 3813 on the delivery run of the SPIRIT OF PROGRESS Albury to Sydney, 15th April, 1962 (Hi Rail NSWR-2). The record was released soon after. The record plays at 33 rpm. There are notes on the back cover.
To mark the historic occasion the journey from Albury to Sydney was an all steam affair.
The recordings cover different parts of the journey until the train arrived at platform 3 in Sydney.
The record is in VG(+) condition. There is some surface noise at the very start of side one. Otherwise it plays well. 6 out of 10. / The cover has some wear. There is a 3cm split on the spine and a couple of corner scuffs. There is general aging/storage wear and some soiling from handling. A sound copy of a hard to find item.
