Personnel: Martin Cockerham (guitar, vocals), Barbara Gaskin (lead vocals), Steve Borrill (bass), Dave Mattacks (drums),  Julian Cusack (violin, keyboards), Steve Ashley (whistle), John Boyce (cello), Henry Lowther (trumpet), Stan Sulzman (flute). Produced by Max Hole.

Tracks: The Furthest Point (8:16), Old Boot Wine (4:18), Parallel Lines Never Separate (5:05), Spiggly (1:12),  An Everyday Consumption Song (4:29), The Sergant Says (3:43), In The Western World (12:59). 

Original 12" vinyl LP first German pressing 1973 on green Brain Metronome 1024 label, has great fragile laminated single cover (not a later gatefold cover issue). This cover comes  without any cuts or holes as later pressings usually have it. The vinyl matrix nos.: S1 / S2 with the very first matrix stampers: A1 / B1.

Now about condition- the cover is a top of NM. The record would be also in a top NM condition without only one stupid mark on the vinyl (you can see this one on the picture). On side 1 track 1 "the furthest point" is a small mark (it´s not a scratch or not a deep scratch) of 4mm (0.2") from the begin of playing groove. The song begins and plays round about 15-20 seconds without any problems, but after great Sulzma´s flute when John Boyce starts to break your heart with his cello work- the phono needle stays on the place (don´t jump). If you manually move the needle than you hear the same after 5 seconds with also some light backgrounding ticks. I tryed to play it with some more weight on the needle and the vinyl plays normally with only some light ticks on that place. After this mark and the rest of the vinyl plays NM.
