Exceptional copy of the first LP from the Spontaneous Music Ensemble on Island subsidiary Hexagram. Still the cornerstone of European/UK free improvisation, Karyobin features quintet improvisations from the world-beating line-up of Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland and John Stevens. This is a very rare LP and the vinyl is in stunning condition, direct from the archive of the Jazz Journal, Ex++, while the sleeve is stunning, with the only wear a small rectangle of yellowing sellotape on the bottom right corner at the back. Easily the best copy ever to pass through our hands. Listed by The Wire magazine as one of the albums that set the world on fire. Still sounds peerless.
