Not a lot of people know a lot about Tasmania. An island off the Australian coast where life is pretty laidback, what we can say is there's clearly some talent coming out of the scene there. In our minds, Spooky Eyes are as good as they are because living in a beautiful but remote part of the world is always going to be inspiring, and they have clearly spent some time soaking in all that inspiration and honing their craft. Originally cut for a vinyl-only, Australasia-only run of pressings, the young, loud and unarguably raw heavy psyche-blues three piece sold that out immediately and are coming back for more in the same year. Not bad for an era in which 'people don't buy music anymore'. Spitting and sweating out a sort-of-nostalgia for the grit, grime and delirium of the 1970s guitar scene, but certainly bringing their own voice to the choir, we recommend grabbing a copy before this fresh well also runs dry.
