Description
Spooky Tooth, "The Last Puff", 1970, Island label (pink label, small i), ILPS-9117, matrix nos. A//1, B//1, 7 tracks.
This LP has been in my collection since I bought it new in the early 1970s (possibly in 1970 when it came out), and has always been stored indoors and upright. the labels indicate I didn't play it much - in fact, it hasn't been played at all for many years, since I moved over to CDs, so I have played it through today to check it (see below). I am not a dealer so I don't have that level of expert knowledge, but I always try to describe accurately any records I am selling, and I will always try to answer any questions. Plus, if when you receive the LP you feel that my description was inaccurate, simply return the LP within 7 days of receipt for a full refund.
SURFACES - visually unmarked, played absolutely perfectly (Sansui deck, Ortofon cartridge) - no skips, jumps, clicks or pops, no surface noise even between tracks. As stated previously, I am not a dealer, but from reading other listings of this LP I have learned that in 1970 EMI took over the pressing of Island albums, and matrix numbers then end in U, so the fact that the matrixes on my copy are A//1 and B//1 indicate that it is a First Pressing! Labels are clean and bright, with very little spindle marking.
COVER - very light scuffing on the bottom edge of the sleeve, a few very slight creases on the spine, slight ring-wear at the bottom of the front of the sleeve, very small sticker tear at top right-hand corner of the front of the cover (see photograph).
Posted in a new cardboard mailer with two cardboard stiffeners.
