Description
Extremely rare first pressing of the classic Spooky Tooth 1969 LP "Spooky Two", UK Island gatefold LP ILPS9098 in stereo; original pink "i" label on heavy gauge vinyl. The matrix numbers on the runoff track are ILPS+9098+A/ILPS+9098+B. I purchased this record in 1969 and it is from my personal collection.
The gatefold jacket is in "EX" condition with no cutout holes, rips or seam splits; very mild shelfwear on the bottom; faint ringwear on the back cover; very minimal age foxing on the inside gatefold. The LP is "EX+" and pressed on the original Island heavy gauge vinyl and has no scratches or marks; a few paper scuffs can be seen under close scrutiny. It has been stored in a poly lined paper sleeve since purchase (see photos).
I tend to grade my records very conservatively to avoid any confusion.
Vinyl grading is based on the Goldmine standard as follows:
“SS” Still Sealed – For the collector that demands nothing but perfection.
“M” Mint - a near perfect or unplayed record.
“NM” Near Mint - in factory fresh condition, like new.
EX+ - close to like new with only superficial signs of use that don't affect play. Will satisfy all but the most vain and demanding collector.
EX - a used, reasonable copy. Shows slight signs of wear.
VG+ - There will be obvious signs of wear and the possibility a few skuffs and/or light surface noise between tracks or during quiet passages, but still quite nice.
