Description

THIS IS AN AUCTION FOR THE DEBUT LP BY SPOOKY TOOTH RELEASED IN 1968 ON ISLAND CAT NO ILPS 9080. THIS COPY IS A FIRST PRESS ON THE TEXTURED PINK ISLAND BLACK/ORANGE CIRCLE LABEL WITH HAND ETCHED MATRIX NUMBERS OF ILP-ST-SC-A AND ILP-ST-B [WITH A FURTHER B CROSSED OUT]

THE FULLY LAMINATE SLEEVE IS IN NEAR EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH SOME VERY LIGHT STORAGE WEAR TO THE CORNERS AND A SMALL AMOUNT OF LAMINATE LIFT DOWN THE LEFT SIDE OF THE FRONT COVER. THERE ARE A COUPLE OF YELLOW SPOTS ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER WHICH LOOK LIKE THEY ARE PART OF THE ARTWORK BUT ON CLOSER INSPECTION THEY ARE NOT. BUT THEY DO NOT DISTRACT.

THE TEXTURED LABELS ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND LOOK GREAT. THE VINYL HAS A NICE SHEEN. THERE ARE A FEW MARKS TO BOTH SIDES WHICH CAUSE SOME TICKS AND BACKGROUND NOISE DURING PLAYBACK, BUT THE LP DOES PLAY WITHOUT ANY SKIPS OR JUMPS. OVERALL I WOULD GRADE THE VINYL AS VERY GOOD-. IN FACT SIDE 2 PLAYS BETTER THAN SIDE 1 AND GRADES AS VERY GOOD.

OVERALL A NICE PLAYABLE COPY OF THIS RARE LP.

Please check my listings for other classic rock LP's

I use the Record Collector grading system to grade my records-please see below

The Lp will be sent in professional mailers and will be sent in the Uk recorded/special delivery at a cost of  £2.50. I will pay the extra. The cost of postage in Europe is £8.00 and will include international signed for as mandatory . Anyone bidding who does not have feedback will have their bid cancelled straight away. I am very sorry about this but this is due to problems experienced in the past. Anyone without feedback and who wants to bid please contact me first.

Grading:- MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

EXCELLENT:
The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD:
The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD:
The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc
