If you are bidding for vinyl, you are familiar with a number of grading standards. I follow Goldmine to the letter, grading conservatively vinyl, label, insert and cover. I have been listening to music all my life and collecting for the past 40+ years, so I understand how important accuracy is when describing the condition of an album being sold. My rating reflects that precisely. I grade visually and spot check the audio quality playing back on a Goldring turntable with a Ortofon cartridge, powered by a modest NAD 304 Integrated AMP with a pair of near monitor Fanfare Acoustics speakers.
I can not listen to every record I own, so I have decided to part with those that I do not absolutely love. All the records I will be selling are from my personal collection or very special acquisitions from other private collections.
I take very good care of my records, hope you will do the same!
The recording below is now for auction:
Artist: Spring
Album Title: Spring
Record Label: Neon (RCA UK)
Number: NE 6
Dead Vinyl Info: AGBS 0521-A-1 / AGBS 0522-B-1
Vinyl Rating: Looks: NM with a very nice glossy sheen and very little faint hairliners. The mermaid and black side labels are in pristine condition!
Sounds: NM with very little surface noise in between some tracks is truly forgettable. This record has an incredible sound with heavy full bottom and impressive dynamics.
Cover Rating: VG++ only because of two nicks on the spine with no ring ware or splits. Original black inner sleeve is intact. The inner tri-gatefold has a few white specks that does not distract from reading the lyrics.
About this recording: Deep solid bass, sweeping orchestral mellotron chording and dreamy vocals are the characteristics of this fine and rare recording from a band that should have done more. Produced by Gus Dudgeon of Elton John fame sounds nothing like him but more like a King Crimson with a bit of Moody Blues. And yes the drummer, Pique Withers is from Dire Straits. This recording will not dissapoint the music lover or the collector.
Bid with confidence for an album worth having. Satisfaction guaranteed! Thanks for looking and enjoy the Music!
