Description

This is a great example of the LP 'Spring' by the great prog psych band Spring. The music is great melodic prog psych stuff with soaring mellotron, lovely guitar fills and fine vocals. It's a pity that this was Spring's only LP.

It's on the UK RCA Neon label.

It's a stereo recording and the catalogue number is NE6. It was released originally in 1971.

OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is a triple foldout type is in pretty good condition. There is some wear on all sides (one, two and three). A strip of clear adhesive tape has been fixed to the spine and this is noticeable if you look closely. The edges and spine show some definite wear. There is also a 70mm (2.5 inch) split along the top edge of the third outer sleeve but this could be repaired. The wording along the spine is partially obscured. The inner three sides of the sleeve are in fine condition with some wear. I've graded the sleeve VG+.

INNER BAG -  Black Neon company die cut paper type. It states at the bottom on one side of the inner sleeve PATENT Nos. 1125555, 1072844 - MADE IN GREAT BRITAIN. It is in fine condition with some creasing and a minor split along one side and has been graded VG++.

RECORD - The record is in fine condition. It appears to have been played quite a few times. There are some very superficial marks on either side which do not affect the quality. It plays very well on both sides with some minor surface noise especially between tracks and some very occasional pops and clicks on both sides. These blemishes do not detract from the overall quality of record. However, on track one, side two there is a definite mark which shows itself as a number of clicks over 12 - 15 revolutions. Since this is quite a loud track the mark does not detract from the overall quality of the record. There are no jumps on any of the tracks on either side.

LABELS - The label on side one is the classic Neon coloured type with the young lady standing in a shell. this is in fine condition with minor spindle marks. The label on side two is the black and white RCA Neon type with the track listings for both sides. The matrix numbers (AGBS 0521 for side one and AGBS 0522 for side two) are printed on the label on side two. There are also minor spindle marks on side two. It states on the label 'Produced by Gus Dudgeon - A Future Sounds Product for Tarantula Productions Ltd. P 1971 Essex Music Int.' At the very bottom the label on side two it states 'MANUFACTURED BY RCA LIMITED, ENGLAND FROMMASTER RECORDINGS OF RCA RECORDS.TM(S) REGISTRADA(S) USED BY AUTHORITY OF RCA CORP[ORATION. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.UNAUTHORISED COPYING,PUBLIC PERFORMANCE AND BROADCSTING OF THIS RECORD FORBIDDEN'. I've graded the record as VG++ which I believe is very fair.

I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.

THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
