Description
Hello my name is Brian and I have been a vinyl fan for many years now and have always bought and sold items to feed my vinyl hunger...I have never been a dealer but will always describe my items for sale as honestly and accurately as possible with plenty of clear and detailed pictures.
If you read my ebay feed back as a seller you will see that people are happy with what they recieve from my auctions. I try not to waffle on about how rare an album is using silly expressions such as "AWESOME" or "IMPOSSIBLE LIKE THIS" etc etc (yawn yawn)!
I am very particular about packaging the vinyl. I use cruciform boxes with cardboard stiffeners and bubble wrap for extra protection. The vinyl is always packaged outside of the sleeve to prevent seem splits. I am happy to post any where in the world if fully insured and the cost will depend on the final selling value, so I can't advise the cost until the auction has ended.
Please bid with confidence, and if for some reason you are not happy with your purchase i am happy to give a FULL refund on receiving the item back in the condition I posted it out in.
I recommend extra insurance for the more valuable items (over £40), it only costs a couple of pounds and is well worth it in my opinion. I will NOT post items over seas without full insurance.
I use the 'RECORD COLLECTOR' grading system with a + or - where appropriate.
so here we go.........
SPRING-SPRING. UK VERY FIRST PRESSING . This is a VERY FIRST factory sample pressing.
NE 6 STEREO 1971 AGBS 0521
RCA NEON LABEL
matrix number side 1. AGBS 0521-A-1 A+L
matrix number side B AGBS 0521-B-1 A/J
SLEEVE......... TRIPPLE FOLD OUT AND UNLAMINATED.Very crisp and strong. In great condition with absolute minimal signs of handleing. The front is N/MINT with No damage, just a tiny amount of surface rub at the bottom edge and some spots of manufacturing glue (very common on this sleeve). The rear is in similarN/MINT condition with no ring wear. The middle pannel is also N/MINT and has rarely seen the light of day.The spine is also very nice with extremely light rub to the edges, the information is fully readable EX+. The top edges are in very nice MINT condition with no wear. The bottom edges have NO shelf wear N/MINT. The opening edges are in great MINT condition. The inner gatefold is the very best I have ever seen and looks freshly printed, MINT. There is wear to the very tips of the corners. Over all the best example of this highly collectable sleeve. Some 41 years old now and in a solid N/MINT condition.
INSERT.......... Correct black polly lined in N/MINT condition.
LABELS......... No damage, no unwanted writing or unwanted stickers (The sample sticker can easily be removed with the correct liquid, I am happy to do this if so wished but it adds authenticity and I would not advise it as it obviously adds value to the album), NO spindle marks. MINT, MINT.
VINYL............ The surfaces look great with almost no very light hairlines and no deep scratches or marks any where to be seen, nice glossy deep black shine.
PLAYBACK.. Altough this album has had only a handful of plays at the most, the sound is not perfect. The inferior quality of this vinyl recording is renowned throughout the collectors market. In fact I have owned 7 different copies of this album hopeing to find a quiet copy withot any distorted moments or background noise, and I have NEVER found one or herd of one. Saying that this is the best I have heard. Most of the play back is just perfect with the occasional distorted passage. Don't get me wrong it is still a superb copy and a real pleaseure to sit and listen to such a brilliant and iconic piece of progressive music history. I just making sure ther is no dissappointment for the winner of his realy rare and wondrful album.
I am fortunate to own a LINN SONDEK with an EKOS arm and ARKIV cartridge connected to LINN amps and LINN speakers that together show up the faults as well as the wonderful music that vinyl contains. First and most important the music in this recording is brilliant. There is absolutely no deteriation in the playback full, rich and loud, wonderful stereo and a big wide sound stage. There are a couple of background 'swish' sounde between tracks and a little muddleing on a couple of the tracks but almost NO dust crackled or 'pops' and NO skips or jumps. N/MINT, N/MINT. Archive quality! Just as it came of the press.
A wonderful copy of a great album. You will never need to upgrade, infact I am sure you won't find one as good as this copy, ever. Very nice copy indeed.
Thank you for looking.
Good luck bidding, Brian.
