STUNNING, RARE junk shop glam collectible. This is a real oddity and so far, as far as I know, it has never featured on a compilation. To my ears there's definitely the trademark glam 'stomp' with the rhythm section but the vocals are pretty tough. Over all this has a GREAT proto-punk feel and super-hot guitar fuzz. The A-Side should have featured on any of the RPM Junk Shop Glam comps - would sound great next to Iron Virgin or even the Hammersmith Gorillas. The B-Side has a really great production and is a moodier, slow number. The guitars and reverb make it sound like a modern garage track, with the lurching rhythm clashing vividly with the singer's almost bluesy vocal. Someone has uploaded a sample from each side here:

Not much is known about Spunky Spider and as far as I know this is their sole release on the super collectible Pheonix Records. I'm sad I'm selling this wonderful, crazy little 7" but hopefully it will go to a collector who will look after it! I've only ever seen one of these and I bought it. The two entries on popsike vary so wildly so I've no idea how much this will go for. It will be packed professionally in a stiff brown mailer with a PVC sleeve, the record will be placed in a separate inner in the PVC.
CONDITION OF SLEEVE: VERY GOOD ++. The sleeve is in great shape, as you can see from the scans. There is only some minor creasing but no tears, wear or ripping anywhere.
CONDITION OF VINYL: EXCELLENT++. The vinyl is in BREATH TAKING shape. I am finding it difficult to find any blemish on the surface. The vinyl is completely shiny and AS NEW. There is a lovely glint to the vinyl you only get with 70s wax: this seriously looks like it has just been pressed. The reason I have not graded this record as NEAR MINT is because of a tiny tiny scuff at the beginning of SIDE B. I had to scan the surface in strong light to find it and, of course, it DOES NOT SOUND. I believe this is the BEST copy of the record you will find. I should point out that there is a pressing flaw on the label (see the scans) which doesn't touch the surface. It seems to be a pressing order when the label was being stamped on to the vinyl. A great record in collector's condition: YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED.
