Description
Mercury Records stereo six disc boxed set SR6-9121 with early dark maroon label discs, pressed in the US. Stampers are RFR 1/2/5/2/1/1/1/1/2/4/3/2. Tchaikovsky, six symphonies. Antal Dorati conducts the London Symphony Orchestra. See pics for program details.
Discs NM- to NM, very little spindle wear, a few harmless paper scuffs from the original paper inner sleeves, which have been replaced with new poly-lined sleeves. Box VG+, a little wear at the corners, one split corner.
Not an easy set to find, and well worth having, especially for the first three symphonies. The symphonies 1-3 were originally issued on a two disc set (SR2-9015). This set is the only time they were issued on six sides, two for each symphony. The sound quality is far better than the original issue.
