SSSlick – “This Is SSSlick” (Stage 3 Sound Prod. 113074). Pure sounding Deep Funk, Vocal Jazz and Blues by this short-lived Kansas City band organized around master organist Everette DeVan in 1981. Excellent hammond, guitar, trumpet & vibe action and including James Brown drummer Dwight Jenkins. Scarce private press LP that is heavy in demand for organ funk tracks “Crisco” and “Voodoo Village”. Cuts include: “The Song Is You”, “Crisco”, “Next Time You See Me”, “Somewhere Along The Way”, “Teach Me Tonight”, “People’s Choice”, “I'll Remember April”, “Gypsy In My Soul”, “Stormy Monday”, and “Voodoo Village.” Record and cover are in VG+ condition.
