Up for sale is an incredible Jazz Classic: Stan Getz with Charlie Bird : Jazz Samba. This is an original 1962 copy first pressing, stereo V6-8432. It’s the original black Verve label with silver print. Thick cardboard and heavy vinyl in a gatefold presentation. This is not an import, not a reissue, just pure and unadulterated 1962 Jazz. It is in insanely clean condition. The only way I know it was used is that there’s a small handwritten note on the back and a small glue splatter stain in the cover (see pictures). Other than those two minute details, it is as clean as a fresh printed album from yesterday.
About the album: Jazz Samba was a crucial and groundbreaking album that was the first true bossa nova through and through. It features Carlos Jobim’s Desafinado and the Samba de Uma Nota Só (One Note Samba). Byrd’s off kilter harmonies stimulate Getz’s melodic inventiveness even more than usual.
