STANLEY IVORY undocumented deep funk 45 DELLITA “Leaving on Train Tomorrow” HEAR

Label:   DELLITA RECORDS “The Sound With Soul”.  Division of Money Town Records.  Label is yellow with black text.  Catalog number is D-4906.

  Arranged by Stanley Ivory and Milt Matthews.

Year:  late 1971 (presumption based on catalog number D-4906-11-71.)

Condition:   VG++ with 100% of original gloss.  There are a few very slight scuffs, but no serious marks or issues other than a few lightly audible soft ticks at the very outset.  Fidelity is superb.  Labels are clean and pristine.  A fine sounding record, as you can hear in the accompanying sound clip.

NOTE:  I could not find any references to this release on the internet, nor is it listed in John Manship’s guide or on his website.  Nothing turned up on Google.  The record turned up at a local D.C. area house cleanout.  I have not seen this label before.  So it appears to be quite rare, and to my ear is a superb soul arrangement and performance that builds nicely to its energetic conclusion.  Give it a listen and see what you think.
