Description : Dakar’s Star Band gave birth to many other outfits in the mbalax explosion of the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, including Youssou N’Dour’s Etoile De Dakar and Star Number One with Papa Serigne Seck, Moustapha N’Diaye, Doudou Sow and Thierno Kouate.

This is great raw proto-mbalax Afrobeat from the late '70s, still with a little bit of that old Cuban influence too, with guitars, horns, bass, drums and lots of percussion.
