This 1983 studio album by Ringo Starr has often been considered the legendary Beatles drummer's solo masterpiece and an LP wrongly overlooked. New reissued with an added bonus track. Originally produced by former Eagles man Joe Walsh and Russ Ballard and now reissued, the sessions for this ninth solo studio work feature drum-led arrangements with guitar, bass and layered keyboard parts recorded across multiple studios in 1982. Tracks such as ‘In My Car’ use steady rock rhythms and prominent vocal lines over compact song structures. The bonus ‘As Far as We Can Go’ adds early synth textures and reworked backing instrumentation steeped in early 80s production methods.
