RARE original VERTIGO Records very first STEREO press released in Chile in 1974 by DISCOS PHILIPS (Philips Records), catalog number 6360 098 and matrix numbers: 6360-098-A EB-CD in Side 1 and 6360-098-B EB-CD in Side 2, with UNIQUE PALE GREEN Swirl Vertigo labels!!!

“HELLO!” was originally released in 1973 by Vertigo Records in the UK with Spaceship labels but we had to wait until 1974 to see this album released in Chile and like in so many cases of the period we got an UNIQUE COVER. Cover is made of a single piece of thick paper or thin cardboard folded in the middle, so 3 sides are open and kept together inside an adjusted plastic bag. Front cover keeps the original artwork with silder title and name of the band and the black shadow of the band hidden in the dark grey cover without swirl Vertigo logo. Back cover is written with silver lettering too and it has the swirl Vertigo logo at the upper right corner in silver colour with catalog number and “DELUXE” written above the swirl. In both front and back cover everything is written in English. But the rarity is in the labels, it’s a swirl Vertigo press with labels in pale green colour!!! Chile is the only country where you can find green swirl Vertigo labels!!! So far we know, only in Germany, Austria, Argentina and Chile this album, Status Quo’s “Hello!”, was released with swirl Vertigo labels and here in Chile we got an UNIQUE PALE GREEN SWIRL VERTIGO LABELS!!! YES, this is A GREAT FIND for all Status Quo fans and Vertigo collectors, A MUST TO HAVE, specially in this great condition. It’s interesting to see that in labels tracklist is written in English only and in the swirl is written “Side A”, in English, just like original Vertigo releases, but in the other label it says “Lado 1” and “Lado 2” (Side 1 and Side 2) in Spanish.

The cover was already described and it’s in EX+ or NM- condition for both sides, clean, complete, no marks or names written, no ring marks, no blemishes, no bends, only some minimal creases and minimal wear in the mouth. The record is in strong EX+ or NM- condition, glossy, clean, only with some scuffs hard to see, which don’t affect play. Labels are in NM or NM+ condition, clean and clear both sides, absolutely free of marks, but someone wrote a number in Side 2 which you can see in the picture. The sound is far the best part, it’s incredibly good, it’s in EX+ or NM- condition in both sides, loud, clear and clean, only minimal crackles here and there, which are hard to hear if you are not trying to find them, no background noise at all (surface noise is normal in records from Chile), but at the end of Side 1, like in the last 5 seconds in my Audio-Technica I heard a pop and the first time it had a repetition but after to adjust the weight of the tonearm, the repetition disappeared. Overall, this record is in superb condition with a very nice cover and an amazing sound quality after 37 years!!!

And don’t forget this press has an UNIQUE COVER, UNIQUE PALE GREEN SWIRL VERTIGO LABELS and both, cover and record are in great condition!!!

Bid with confidence and don’t wait until the last second because you could lose the chance to get a real collectable record from Chile (South America) in superb condition like this copy is. You know South American records aren’t easy to get in good conditions, so HAPPY BIDDING and don’t let this record to go away… you could never see a so good copy of this record again… if you are lucky enough to see even another copy again…

We don’t use the generic “VG” most of South American sellers use to hide poor quality conditions or “NM” or “Mint” for records which aren’t even clean and sound less than a normal “VG” in professional standards. We use the Record Collector’s Grading System with a little modification: we don’t use MINT grade but for Sealed records and we can use a + or – to show a most professional accurate description.

MINT (M): I only use this grade for Sealed records.

NEAR MINT (NM): The record itself is in like new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality (only some very very very light hairlines caused for the record rubbing the sleeve). The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in like perfect condition.

EXCELLENT (EX): The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality, maybe some surface marks which doesn’t affect play. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

VERY GOOD (VG): The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

GOOD (G): The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discoloration, etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump.
The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

BAD (B): The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler.

We have an unique value worldwide: 

GBP15 for weight until 1kg (usually 1 or 2 records 12" depending of thickness of the vinyl)

GBP25 for weight 1-2kg (usually 3-5 records 12")

GBP7 for one 7” record

All records will be packed outside of the sleeve to avoid damages in the cover and all records will be sent with tracking number via Small Packet or Parcel Post services.

We don’t have anything to hide and we know the buyers expect to receive feedback after to pay for the items they win. Most of sellers say to give feedback when buyers leave feedback first.
