Welcome to 'Its the vinyl countdown' music auctions. Here you will find some of the most incredible rare records and music memorabilia for your collection. We pride ourselves on auctioning only the highest grade records and items, you will not see anything listed here below EX+ condition, unles the item is extremely rare. You will not see worn covers, warped records or scratched records. We simply do not bother with them.
We list in many cases, 'Archived' & 'mint' condition items, we are able to source from private collections all over the UK. So we hope you can be put at ease that what you are bidding on is of the highest quality.
We play through most of the records, unless the item is clearly mint, or sealed..in which case we don't play them, thus maintaining their 'unplayed' status! Obviously with some of these rare items there will be the odd 'anomoly' along the way , the odd little static pop or lead in 'sizzle' for a split second.. nothing is perfect we find! all systems differ, but we aim to describe these as accurately as possible for you.... UK 1st Earliest RED VINYL 'PYE' Pressing from 1979- very limited edition pressing
An outstanding 'ARCHIVED' example of this very collectable classic LP.

THE VINYL EX+ STRONG SUPERB RED VINYL
As you can see, this vinyl is the highly prized 1st UK pressing with the A1 B1 matrix numbers on each side, AND RED WAX- confirming this is the very first pressing. From a music business associate this LP was archived from new in 1979..
This first pressing is a superb vinyl which has retained its amazing glossy sheen and finish. There is no dulling anywhere and overall it is in incredible condition for an LP of this age. The edges are silky smooth, typical of these vintage pressings. We are seing fewer and fewer copies of this LP, so rarely do we see a copy at all, let alone like this.
The centre hole shows no skate lines that we could see, and no wear to the hole at all. It has been stored away from new!
Under a very bright light you can see there are a few tiny light whisp lines in a few places. ....archived for many many years, a few little dust specs are on the vinyl when we slid it for checking.. Obviouslt colourd pressings do not have the sonic sound quality of black, but this vinyl sounds great!
Finding these PYE UK RED ressings is becoming impossible..most you will see are later 'Phonogram' 80s' presses, which feature BLACK WAX.
OVERALL THIS IS SIMPLY A MUST FOR ANY FINAL UPGRADE COLLECTION. YOU WILL NOT SEE BETTER.
THE SLEEVE MINT- INCREDIBLE SLEEVE!
Correct low gloss finish 'PYE STAMPED' first issued earliest sleeve - This 'compilation' release which came out on the strength of Quo's huge UK chart success in the late 70s (on their Vertigo recordings) PYE rush released this LP to cash in..!! It was only available for a very short time. Finding a copy is becoming impossible! A red one? rarer still!
This is in SUPERB condition with barely a hint of storage wear
The edges are all super clean with no real traces of rub, the tips also have the tiniest rub, all colours and inks remain in outstanding condition
One incredibly light hairline crease on the on the bottom front open edge. Thats it!
No powdery white ringwear or even ring press of any note, and all edges are super crisp.
There are a couple of tiny tiny spider lines over the edges.
The open edge remains in immaculate sharp condition with no hint of handling
The spine edge is totally unmarked and all legends are perfectly readable, just a couple of tiny rub spots -
