Condizioni : il fronte laminato della copertina  rivela poche lievi grinze mentre nel retro si può notare un certo ringwear e un linea a zig e zag incisa superficialmente dalla punta di un cacciavite o qualcosa di simile; è visibile quasi unicamente in controluce; grande stato, EX+ / vinile con alcuni segnetti leggeri e qualche traccia di sfregamento con la copertina interna che condizionano l'ascolto con dei clicks, fruscio lieve e un po' di rumore di fondo. Tuttavia sia i fruscii e/o rumori di fondo che di tanto in tanto si avvertono, sono, a mio avviso, imputabili alla scarsa qualità del vInile utilizzato dalla Columbia; bello stato, VG++

Conditions : laminated front cover shows a few minor creases while in the back there is some moderate ring wear and a slight zig-zag incision caused by the tip of a screwdriver or something similar. It is visible almost only in backlight, EX+ / vinyl with some light scuffs and some rubs affecting the listening with some clicks, light hiss and a bit of background noises. However these hisses and/or background noise audible every now and then, in my opinion, are attributable to the poor quality of the vinyl used by Columbia record company, VG++

GRADAZIONE RIGOROSA - STRICTLY GRADED

Copertine e vinili sono visualmente gradati dopo un’attenta osservazione sotto la luce del sole fatta sulla mia terrazza a tetto. Nelle giornate grigie vengono controllati sotto una forte lampada alogena con l’aiuto di una lente d’ingrandimento. Tutti i i 33 giri in asta sono stati interamente ascoltati su un giradischi Rega Planar 3 fornito di una testina a magnete mobile Grado Statement 1. Per EP e singoli a 45 giri utilizzo un Thorens TD 166 BC con testina, sempre MM, Goldring 1006. Ritenendo che le abituali classificazioni quali Mint, Ex, Vg, ecc., ecc… siano poco significative per spiegare le reali condizioni dei dischi ed anche estremamente soggettive, precedo sempre tali classificazioni con una breve descrizione degli eventuali difetti che ho riscontrato, ad eccezione di Mint- che il più alto grado che conferisco a qualsiasi disco. Soltanto per le copie ancora sigillate all’origine utilizzo MINT/MINT.

Sleeves and vinyls are visually graded after a careful check in bright sunshine on my roof terrace. In the gray days I watch the records under a strong halogen lamp with the help of a magnifying glass. All LPs in auction have been fully heard on a turntable Rega Planar 3 with a moving magnet cartridge Grado Statement 1. I listen EPs and singles 45  rpm. on a turntable Thorens TD 166 BC with a MM cartridge Goldring 1006. Considering that the usual classifications such as Mint, EX, Vg, etc…, etc… are not significant to explain the real condition of the records in addition to a total subjectivity of opinion, I always introduce before these classifications a short description concerning any defects I have verified with the exception of Mint minus, the highest grade I declare. I use MINT/MINT exclusively for the still from factory sealed copies.

Note : musiche e direzione orchestrale di Stavros Xarhakos. Storia romantica e malinconica fra un pastore e una giovane turista inglese. Come a dire tradizione e innovazione che s'innamorano. E' quanto accade a questa bella colonna sonora che sconvolge un pò certi suoni del passato principalmente basati su musiche e danze tradizionali con la costante presenza del bouzouki o del tambouras. Cambiamento ma non certo il rinnegamento dell'importante tradizione musicale Greca. E lo si avverte bene nelle tracce del disco. C'è un interessante uso delle tastiere e della chitarra elettrica che in unione a basso, batteria, flauto e di volta in volta ad altri strumenti danno vibranti e fresche sensazioni musicali. Una particolare citazione meritano le canzoni, tutte in lingua Greca. Sia Maria Dimitriadi che Fefe Aliberti sono ottimi interpreti e il loro duetto " Remembering " è magnifico. Alcune tracce hanno sonorità tardo-beat e una leggera psichedelia. E' il caso di " Summer " (a3) ben condotta dalla chitarra elettrica con il supporto dell'organo e della batteria, " Misundersting " (b3) dalle sensazioni psichedeliche evocate dalle tastiere o " Walking in Athens " (b5) dal ritmo vivace sottolineato da organo e chitarra. Molto particolare per sofisticata complessità e un certo retrogusto jazz " Clouds in Their Love " con insistenti sonorità di basso e organo su un complessivo andamento moderato.

Notes : music and orchestra Stavros Xarhakos. A romantic and melancholic story between a shepherd and a young English tourist. Like to say tradition and innovation which fall in love. It is what happens in this beautiful soundtrack that upsets some sounds of the past mainly based on traditional music and dances with the constant presence of the bouzouki or tambouras. Disruption possibly but certainly not denial of the important Greek musical tradition. And all this is  felt in the tracks of the album. There is an interesting use of keyboards and electric guitar in union with bass, drums, flute and from time to time to other instruments, which create vibrant and fresh musical sensations. The songs, all in Greek language, deserve a special mention.  Both Mary Dimitriadi and Fefe Aliberti are excellent performers and their duet " Remembering " is wonderful. Some tracks have late-beat sonorities and a soft psychedelia. This is the case of " Summer " (a3) well led by electric guitar with the support of organ and drums, " Misundersting " (b3) from the psychedelic sensations evoked by the keyboards or " Walking in Athens " (b5) from the lively rhythm emphasized by organ and guitar. From special relevance for the sophisticated sound tapestry and a certain unusual jazz feeling " Clouds in Their Love " with insistent sound of bass and organ on a moderate overall development.
