The wonderful prog/psych site Head Full Of Snow had this to say (and they perfectly sum it all up, which is why I've defered to them):
Gathered here, in a double 7? coloured vinyl pack, are four tracks from four bands, which stick to the label’s remit of reinterpreting songs from the swirly eras of psychedelia and prog.
First up is a cover of ‘Tomorrow Never Knows’, the ambitious closer from the The Beatles’ 1966 Revolver album. Doing away with the double-tracked, Leslie speaker-fed vocal effects of the original, as well as the jangly sitar and over-emphasis on reverse instrumentation and looped tapes, Spanish headtrippers Stay deliver what the song might’ve sounded like had the Fab Four not been so keen to push the experimental boundaries.
Next up is ‘Wherewithal’, from Permanent Clear Light who perform a little-known number by Clifford T Ward. It chugs along just nicely, with some sweet effects and phasing, which give it a distinctly psychedelic Beatles/The Dukes of Stratosphere vibe.
‘Vision’, here tackled by Welsh gothic folk combo Zeuk, was written in 1967 by none other than Peter Hammill, lead singer with Van der Graaf Generator. A markedly different offering to the craziness the VdGG usually put out, ‘Vision’ is a ballad trading in mood and emotive lyricism, complete with a rich accompaniment of lush strings. For me, the highlight of the Fruits de Mer Annual 2011, and one that gently permeates the mind, like sonic vapours from a warm bath of sound.
Finally, Hi-Fiction Science’s ‘Fleance’, originally recorded by The Third Ear Band in 1971, is a spectral offering, helped in no small part by the ghostly vocals of Maria Charles and the repetitive beat. Shot through with the scorching strains of a tortured electric guitar and the intermittent SOS of a melody lost somewhere on a stormy sea, ‘Fleance’ makes for a hauntingly spectacular listen.
