Description

This is the rare original 1961 first pressing of Miles Davis' Steamin' LP on Prestige PRLP-7200. Features John Coltrane, with Red Garland, Paul Chambers, and Philly Joe Jones. One of Miles' truly classic albums, just an incredible recording. Original Bergenfield address, with Rudy Van Gelder's initials in the runoff. The disc has quite a few scuffs and marks but it actually plays way better than you would expect. It plays clearly with no skips, but with a touch of light crackle to be heard in places, mostly when the music gets quiet. Still quite enjoyable, with no groove distortion or loud pops. Really a nice player most of the time. The cover is just lovely, with only a little light shelfwear. No seam splits, and a perfectly intact and readable spine. Only light spots of wear, barely. Slight staining on the back at the right edge, mainly at the bottom. Not bad at all. This is a lovely original cover, and a pretty good listening copy.
