I recently came across (and purchased) a collection of Festival Records TEST PRESSINGS. Many had come from the Festival Records Archives and had been in storage since long before the company closed down. Others had been acquired from elsewhere, and the collection was quite extensive. This one here came from that collection.

 ...Plain white labels with rubber-stamped info...Note that although the eventual catalogue number was L-37968, the catalogue number on this has Festival Australia's in-house prefix for Chrysalis releases before it...

...The deal with Festival test pressings for their licensed releases was that usually only a mere TWO copies were pressed (!) - with one reference copy kept on file, in-house. I believe this was originally that one.

There's an interesting bit of run-out groove wording on this - on Side One, hand-enscribed, it states "Dedicated To little Alexander ?'Love Warren' "

...Warren is Warren Barnett, who was one of Australia's premier vinyl cutting engineers throughout the 70's through the 90's, firstly at EMI and later at Festival...and Alexander was either his son or his nephew (I forget which - I should know coz I dealt with Warren many times over, as he cut virtually ALL of the vinyl releases on my own label back then)...

On Side Two he enscribed "Great Joy To The New" and again signed his name.

Comes in its original plain white die-cut paper cover.
