STEVE BRETT & MAVERICKS (SLADE) SUGAR SHACK/CHAINS, EX
This is one of a number of records that I have for sale at the moment so please take a look at the others on my eBay shop, Past-Times Records and Collectables. For sale an original UK 1960’s beat/Mod single from Steve Brett & The Mavericks (Slade Connection) titled ‘Chains On My Heart’ b/w ‘Sugar Shack’, please refer to the photos. The record is on Columbia Records, catalogue number DB 7794; this is an original UK release from ©1965. The condition of the record is as follows: - A side VG condition; B side EX condition; there is a scuff mark across the record on the A side otherwise this would be EX too, the record tracks through this OK without sticking or jumping, check photo 3; clean label both sides with only a couple of faint spindle marks, again refer to the photo’s. This would make a lovely addition to any ones collection as these rarities rarely turn up in any condition let alone one in this condition so don’t miss this or you’ll be sorry afterwards. Brief History: - Steve Brett & The Mavericks was Noddy Holders 1st recording band. They came from the West Midlands. In 1962 they won the Big Beat competition at Gaumont Cinema. During 1963 they went to Germany & performed in some of the same clubs as The Beatles did. Noddy joined Steve Brett in 1964 & one of their better & well known tracks was the B side of this single ‘Sugar Shack’. They recorded 3 singles before splitting. After the split Noddy joined Dave Hill, Don Powell & Jim Lea to form The ‘N Betweens, later becoming the Skinhead band Ambrose Slade then finally Slade. Line-up after 1964 (formerly known as The Memphis Cut-Outs) were;-
Pete Bickley bass guitar, vocal
