Description
Extremely scarce privately pressed 2 LP first release of Steve Reich's "DRUMMING for Eight Small Tuned Drums, Three Marimbas, Three Glockenspiels, Male and Female Voices, Whistling and Piccolo." Gatefold sleeve with photographs and liner notes by Steve Reich documenting debut performance, which consisted of Reich and Art Murhpy, Steve Chambers, Russ Hartenberger, James Preiss, Jon Gibson, Joan LaBarbera, Jody Sherman, Jay Clayton, Ben Harms, Gary Burke and others. I'm not sure if this album is signed: on the back cover in Steve Reich's hand is written "for Richard Brown from Steve Reich 1/18/73" but I can't tell if it is ink or printed, as it looks quite close to all the other handwritten cover art and liner notes.
Condition: Mint / VG+ (both records beautiful, flawless; sleeve very good with slight edge and corner wear, nearly invisible ringwear, and a small place on the gatefold interior spine where one of the records has worn through the cardobard)I can send additional photos or information if required -- just ask.
