Description

Original US recording and release of Steve Reich's iconic Music For 18 Musicians from the 1970's. Reich was part of the minimalist movement of the period with Philip Glass among others. There are multiple recordings of this work by different ensembles, but this is the first and in my opinion the best.

In 2003, David Bowie included it in a list of 25 of his favourite albums, "Confessions of a Vinyl Junkie", calling it "Balinese gamelan music cross-dressing as minimalism."
The record is clean and shiny with no visible defects. The sleeve has minor edge wear on spine and bottom, but is otherwise in great shape (see photos). Grading is visual only.

Notes

The World Premiere of "Music for 18 Musicians" was presented at Town Hall in New York in April 1976 and the European Premiere was presented at the Metamusik Festival in Berlin in October of the same year.
