STEVE REICH – SEXTET / SIX MARIMBAS 1986 Nonesuch US 1st Press 79138-1 NM Vinyl
Description
Original 1986 US Nonesuch Records 1st pressing of Sextet / Six Marimbas, one of Steve Reich’s most important mid-period minimalist works. This release pairs the driving, rhythmically complex Sextet with the hypnotic, percussion-forward Six Marimbas, performed by Reich and musicians from Nexus and the Manhattan Marimba Quartet.
A cornerstone title for collectors of minimalism, contemporary classical, experimental percussion, and avant-garde composition, this original analog pressing is especially desirable for its dynamic range and natural marimba tone.
Issued on Nonesuch Records, catalog 79138-1, with original inner sleeve.
