“The Independent (UK) calls Sextet a work that “expertly dramatises a kaleidoscope of small changes in five contrasting movements, while the New York Times praised its “hypnotically involving mood.” On Six Marimbas, Reich re-scores his 1973 Six Pianos for percussion.”
In his own words, Steve Reich on this piece written after a trip across Africa in 1970. “Drumming is the final expansion and refinement of the phasing process, a process discovered with tape loops that does not appear elsewhere in non-Western or Western music. Drumming also has only one basic rhythmic pattern throughout. This pattern undergoes changes of phase position, pitch, and timbre, but all the performers play this pattern, or some part of it, throughout the entire piece.” 
Both albums are in shrink from release, vinyl is immaculate, likely played once if ever. So that includes not by me. Now, they still have the original Virgin Records sales sticker under the shrink - and that I leave up to the buyer what do with, as each has their own methods.
