It was his first purely textural album, with smooth, dark, gentle atmospheres unlike any of his previous work. Remastered from the original tapes, this is the first reissue of the album on vinyl since it's initial release in 1984. Structures From Silence has been included on Pitchfork's list of best ambient albums of all time, and was named the 10th best album of the eighties by Fact magazine.
