Up for auction is a vinyl 12" lp from STEVEN HINES BAND

12" ep released in 1976 on Tiger Lily Records in the US (TL 14021)
Original US '76 DJ Promo / Promotional Pressing and not a reissue of any kind!

Condition:
Vinyl is in VG++ / EX (Very Good++/Excellent) visual grade condition
Album Cover shows quite a bit of wear. There is a hole punch/promo indicator on the upper right hand corner. There is some unfortunate water/liquid damage with some staining along the top seam portion of lp on both front and back. There is some more moisture damage to the lower center and right hand side of cover on front and along lower left hand corner on back.
The top seam is split all the way across, and the cover paper has been lifted a bit from the card stock cover on both sides. This measures about halfway across and a little less than halfway down. The paper may be able to be glued back to the cover again.

STEVEN HINES BAND - SCARCE Private Press Tax Scam --- Pressed on the Tiger Lily Record label, set up by the notorious Roulette Record honcho Morris Levey, who had some underworld connections. The reason this was probably a Promotional copy is that was probably never intended to actually sell many copies. Most of these types of records were often dumped in mass, or left to sit rotting in a warehouse somewhere.
The music of Steven Hines Band is a weird 70s cross-pollination of styles -- from rock, soul, funk, 70s AM style soft-rock/pop, to disco. Disco Rock? Definitely a head scratcher. Reminds me of music I would hear in a bizarro 70s drive-in exploitation flick.
