Description
STIFF RECORDS BLACK SINGLES BOX SET - LIMITED EDITION
This box set was released in 1979. It consists of the first ten 7" single records released on punk/new wave/alternative UK record label STIFF RECORDS (BUY 1 to BUY 10) from around 1977.
This is #2,187 out of only 5,000 copies available in the first release of this box set. A later edition was issued without individual numbers.

Nick Lowe
Pink Fairies
Roogalator (with their imitation of "With The Beatles" cover, which EMI took exception to)
Tyla Gang
Lew Lewis
The Damned (2 singles - "New Rose" and "Neat Neat Neat")
Plummet Airlines
Motorhead (with a single which was never released)
Richard Hell EP (only a small number released, includes Markie Ramone in line-up)
All are presented as released - most have picture sleeves.
Distinguishing features between this rare edition and the slightly less rare later edition include:
Box is made of sturdier card
Box has "Made In England" on the back, the later one doesn't
Includes a sheet of paper with the limited edition number 2187
The Damned "Neat Neat Neat" does not have "Delga" written on the pic sleeve
Writing on the back of Pink Fairies pic sleeve is sharper/less bold
Richard Hell single has "No. 0001" written at the top back of the pic sleeve, where the later edition features a number at the bottom.
All singles have sleeves that feature a curved opening, whereas the later edition had squared opening.
The records have never been played. Pic sleeves and inserts are in mint condition. The box is slightly worn.
