Description
Up for sale is the ORIGINAL Vertigo UK 1st pressing from 1971 of Still Life's self-titled album. Excellent British heavy organ dominated progressive rock.
This LP is extremely rare and very hard to find, one of the rarest LPs on the Vertigo Swirl label.
The record and sleeve are in very good condition as you can see from the pictures. As this is an especially rare LP I have taken care to describe the condition as accurately
as I can.
The wondeful gatefold sleeve is still nicely flat and under a strong light a few very slight creases are visible, with some light wear along the edges and corners. The spine is
still in very good shape with just a couple of small creases visible. The inside gatefold is also in superb condition with just a very small area about the size of a match head that has
lost the surface ink.
The vinyl on first inspection is still very shiny with no obvious marks. On one side there are a couple of small 1cm hairline surface marks visible that do not affect play and some
small marks in a small area on the runout groove. After carefully playing the record which sounds stunning with very little if any background noise on both sides. I did however
notice on one side a very slight warp on the outside edge on a small area when playing the record that did not affect the sound or playing quality and is largely unoticable to the eye.
I'm not sure if this was a pressing or storage issue as the record appears to have been cared for very well and after inspecting the labels which are in superb condition it does not appear
to have been played a great deal. It comes housed in the original swirl inner sleeve, the plastic lining has unfortunately become detached inside due to age but has done a good job protecting the vinyl.
All in all I would say this is a great example the first pressing of this rare and classic LP.
