In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. Here is a very (ages old!) limited second edition that was released in small quantity in the somwhere abouts of 20+ years ago...as hard as this pressing is to find the 1968 Japanese only issue is extinct and runs near $1000 ...but that is another story...
For '60s music fans of psych/freakbeat, popsike song crafts, "Album No. 1" by Gary Walker and The Rain (featuring Paul Crane from The Cryin' Shames of "Please Stay" fame and Joey Molland, future Badfinger guitarist) is a must-have::::
The album itself proves gratifyingly to be a distinctive pop-psych set falling somewhere between '68 era THE WHO, psychedelic phased pop of early Status Quo mixed with the swinging LONDON mod '60s scene. The slightly hazy production was by ex-Four Pennies bassist Fritz Fryer, who enlisted much inventive studio trickery to enhance the uncompromisingly basic eight-track recording facilities. The leadoff track “Magazine Woman” sets out the stall, with choppy rhythm, stun-gun lead guitar, delightful rough-edged harmonies and “Taxman” rip-off bassline. The ensuing tracks move from late Merseybeat through freakbeat to harder psych, some played straight, others psychedelically treated. Notable are “Thoughts Of An Old Man”, distinctly Pepper-ish musically and lyrically; “Francis”, a crunchy, stereo-tastic garage rocker chronicling the adventures of an elderly philanderer; and a totally wigged-out cover of Lieber and Stoller’s venerable “If You Don’t Come Back” in best Jeff Beck Band style with thudding backing and shards of barely controlled guitar feedback. The original album closes with two ballads: the harpsichord-driven pop-baroque “I Promise To Love You” and the gentle countrified acoustic “Whatever Happened to Happy”. Gary Walker was the drummer in the legendary Walker Brothers and this is was his only, solo album. The least-likely-to Walker Brother cut this hard-hitting, Who-inspired, Pop Psych album with an excellent, hand-picked band and is purportedly the first to ever be recorded in '3D'. His band, The Rain, featured future future Badfinger guitarist Joey Molland.
