The Soul Cages is the third full-length studio album released by Sting and the first to feature longtime guitarist Dominic Miller. Released in 1991, it became his second No. 1 album in the United Kingdom.[8] The album was dedicated to Sting's recently deceased father who died in 1987.

It spawned four singles: "All This Time", "Mad About You", "Why Should I Cry for You" and "The Soul Cages".

The title track won Sting the first ever Grammy Award for Best Rock Song in 1992.


This is a wonderful recording and the vinyl is as close to mint that an opened LP can be.  Distributed by A&M in the US, the record label indicates the vinyl was by Polydor in Holland.  The jacket shows light use with a small spot just to the left of the front illustration, and a light corner crease.  Otherwise the jacket is solid.  
The record was always stored with inner sleeve opening facing up inside the jacket to protect the vinyl.  It was only played on a high end turntable.  From my own collection, this LP was always handled with care.
