FONTANA STL5494 KENNY WHEELER/JOHN DANKWORTH 'Windmill Tilter'
A suite based on "The Story Of Don Quixote" in which WHEELER, who wrote the material, plays a similar role to Miles Davis in his collaborations with Gil Evans. However, here WHEELER shares the spotlight with other exciting young (at the time!) UK musicians including DAVE HOLLAND (b), JOHN McLAUGHLIN (g) and TONY COE (ts). DANKWORTH's orchestra provides the backdrop. This is a first UK Fontana stereo pressing from 1969 with silver/black label.

CONDITION/DESCRIPTION: Disc is E+ (VG++) with a few very light scratches, visible under a bright 'grading' light. Cover is also E+ (VG++), 'as new' apart from very minor corner damage and slight creasing in the top left hand corner. This shows more on the back (top right hand corner) than on the front.
