STOCKHAUSEN: Ceylon/Bird Of Passage 1976 UK CHRYSALIS BEAUTIFUL ONE PLAY COPY - 2 SUPERB AVANT-GARDE PIECES

KARLHEINZ STOCKHAUSEN
Ceylon / Bird Of Passage

ORIGINAL UK CHRYSALIS (CHR 1110) FIRST PRESSING (1976) OF TWO EARLY 1970s WORKS FROM KARLHEINZ STOCKHAUSEN - one of the most influential and unique voices in the post-WWII European musical avant-garde
RELEASED HERE ON THE CHRYSALIS LABEL SO CLEARLY MARKETED TO AN INQUISITIVE AND MORE ADVENTUROUS 'ROCK' AUDIENCE, ALTHOUGH STOCKHAUSEN'S INFLUENCE ON THE 'POPULAR' MUSIC FIELD WAS ALREADY CLEARLY APPARENT
TO QUOTE ALEX ROSS FROM HIS EXCELLENT BOOK "THE REST IS NOISE"
"The Beatles had first dipped into the Darmstadt sound in March 1966, while working on the album Revolver. Paul McCartney had been checking out Stockhausen's 'Gesang der Junglinge', with its electronic layering of voices, and 'Kontakte', with its swirling tape loop patterns. At his request, engineers at Abbey Road Studios inserted similar effects into the song 'Tomorrow Never Knows'. By way of thanks, the Beatles put Stockhausen's face on the cover of 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band', in among cut-out pictures of other mavericks and counter-culture heroes."
AND THIS COPY IS IN EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION HAVING POSSIBLY ONLY EVEN BEEN PLAYED JUST THE ONE TIME - THE LABELS ARE CLEAN AND BRIGHT WITH ONE LIGHT SPINDLE TRACE AND THE VINYL HAS CLEAN, PRACTICALLY UNMARKED SURFACES WHICH SHINE LIKE NEW - SUPERB COPY OF A BEAUTIFUL AND HAUNTING LP

LABELS: The labels are CLEAN and BRIGHT with NO unwanted marks/writing and just ONE light spindle trace on each label - Beautiful copy which has possibly been played just the one time
VINYL Visual: The record lies perfectly flat on the turntable and both surfaces retain their original DEEP, LIKE-NEW, GLOSSY SHEEN and are practically UNMARKED (some (mega) light sleeve removal type hairlines only which have NO audio consequence)
VINYL Audio: The audio is OUTSTANDING THROUGHOUT - CRYSTAL CLEAR and SHARP with beautifully sparse instrumentation (on "Ceylon", "Bird Of Passage" is a bit more raucous with blazing trumpets). On playback at a LOUD volume (which is how I always listen to my records prior to listing) there are NO scratches, NO sticks/jumps and barely any surface noise - in fact the run-ins and quiet passages (and there are many very quiet/almost silent sections) play just about as quietly as vinyl possibly can and the LP sounds STUNNING throughout playing to an extremely high standard with NO groove-wear and NO distortion (it's hardly been played). Critically graded NEAR MINT for audio THIS IS A BEAUTIFULLY CLEAN PRESSING AND ONE WHICH WOULD BE PRETTY HARD TO BEAT - GREAT STUFF
SLEEVE: The original matte cover is remarkably CLEAN, especially as it is mostly white. There is some very light 'ring' (please see photos) but it's very minor and the whole sleeve is SHARP and SQUARE with NO wear to speak of on the edges or spine - where all text is CLEAR and BOLD. Very fine, well preserved sleeve. EXCELLENT+

PLEASE HAVE A LOOK AT MY PICTURES - I USUALLY TAKE QUITE A FEW SO YOU CAN GET A CLEAR INDICATION OF EVERY DETAIL OF THE ITEM
I HAVE UPLOADED AS MANY PICTURES AS I CAN BUT I WOULD BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO SUPPLY ANY ADDITIONAL PHOTOS ON REQUEST
TWO OUTSTANDING WORKS FROM THE LEGENDARY KARLHEINZ STOCKHAUSEN WHICH SOUND STUNNING ON THIS PRACTICALLY UNPLAYED UK FIRST PRESSING
