Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Back in the summer of '64, The Rolling Stones spent some time in the Chicago studios of Chess Records and its subsidiary, Checker, laying down tracks for the EP that would become Five By Five.The EP — the second-ever by the band — featured an A-side instrumental track "2120 South Michigan Avenue," the title an homage to the record labels and their studios where the Stones recorded.
A comprehensive beautiful limited edition LP of the 2120 South Michigan Avenue sessions has appeared - which was never released in the '60s.
After Five By Five, the Rolling Stones issued the LP 12 x 5 (which also featured the "2120 South Michigan Avenue" track) while the sprawling 4-sides of blues-based rock remained unreleased.
These early live recordings made at the famed Chess Studios in Chicago (the place they made a beeline for when they first toured the States) are a lively dose of loose rockin‘ British blues, from a band that wouldn’t even truly understand the stuff for another five years or so. Five of these tracks were released on the 1964 UK EP, 5 X 5. It’s not all root blues material, there’s a lot of rocked-up material, and why that live version of “Satisfaction” was even added to this set is odd, but this “unreleased album” makes a great case for the Stones’ blues authenticity… if only they had not followed so closely in the pop trail blazed by The Beatles’ success. They would finally come home again for Beggars Banquet & the Mick Taylor years.
