Description

THE STONE PONEYS (Featuring Linda Ronstadt) -- So Fine/Everybody Has Their Own Ideas -- original 1968 U.S. 45 single, white label DJ copy.  The rarest Linda Ronstadt/Stone Poneys-related record, these tracks were cut circa 1965 with producer Mike Curb (prior to Linda and the band's signing with Capitol Records) but never released.  Following the smash success of "Different Drum," Curb (who then had his own subsidiary label on Capitol called Sidewalk) decided to put these unreleased tracks out on a 45 -- without informing the band or parent Capitol Records, who quickly demanded the record be withdrawn.  A-side is a cover of the Johnny Otis R&B classic; B-side is a surprisingly tough, garagey/folk-rock sounding number, a bit like early Grace Slick circa Great Society, written by band member Bob Kimmel.  In Sidewalk records sleeve.  Record:  VG++, light surface wear, overall excellent, on white Sidewalk DJ-only label, U.S. pressing.
