"The Strange are from Olympia, WA, close to the Canadian border. The Strange are Tom Hackett, Robert Rensel, David Chamberlain, Rick Rackleff plus Mike Pitcher, Don Morris & Carl Dexter. This art-rock underground band recorded the Souvenir Album over a period of several years released in a tiny pressing in 1976 on the Yantis Record label. With a touch of west coast music and lots of Mothers of Invention influences, this album is really something special. As special as The Spoils Of War and as complex as Time and Think Dog, with Frank Zappa style wah-wah guitar, great vocals, piano, effects, some horns, and a well-balanced mixture of heavy psych guitar tracks and twisted underground folk tunes. If you think the first Spoils Of War album on Shadoks is a great album and the early Mothers albums are the ones you always kept you will be very very happy with this album. Quality control alert on this one, for "condition buffs": most of our stock on this title arrived with a very minor bump on the extra-heavy duty jacket. Although well packaged by Shadoks, sometimes other Jesus-like forces intervene...So please understand that your stock on this title may arrive with a very minor (appox 1/4" seam bump) cover flaw. - Forced Exposure

Vinyl is NM. Cover is EX+.
Top right corner of cover is crunched a bit, otherwise great condition.

GRADING SCALE
MINT (M)
The record is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The jacket and any extra items are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT (EX)
The record shows signs of having been played but there is negligible loss in sound quality. The jacket may have slight wear or creasing.
VERY GOOD (VG)
The record has been played many times but shows no significant deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks. Normal wear and tear on the jacket, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD (G)
The record has been played enough that the sound quality has deteriorated noticeably and may have light pops and skips. The jacket may suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits or discoloration.
FAIR (F)
The record is playable but was not properly cared for and plays with extensive surface noise overriding sound and may skip considerably. The jacket may be torn, stained or defaced.
BAD (B)
The record is unplayable and probably broken and is only of use as a collection filler.

ABOUT THE LPs I SELL: Your LP will come to you with all original artwork, inserts and covers. The LPs come from the huge overstock of retail stores & Dealers on the west coast. The LPs are generally in New, or Like-New & lightly used, previously played condition any items that are not new/ sealed will be listed with a vinyl grading chart

At the end of each 7 days bidding, please email me so I can prepare an invoice for you to pay from. I will always ship within 5 days of receiving the proper payment for your package. Orders can be shipped via First Class Mail (recommended) or Media Rate mail at the buyer's option. I ship International Orders via air mail. (Boxed sets do count as multiple items)
