Description

STRAVINSKY / ANSERMET - " LES NOCES / SYMPHONY OF PSALMS ", The Decca Recording Company Ltd (SXL 2277) Stereo, 1961.

Very rare 1961, first UK Stereo pressing of the very rare Decca LP with the all important grooved wideband Decca Label featuring the "Original Recording by..." label text - see photo.

English issue and pressing.

Professionally cleaned on my Moth record cleaning machine and then put in a fresh new poly-lined inner sleeve (the original inner sleeve has also been kept and will be included with this item).

In the name of getting the auction going, I will start this item at just 99p.


CONDITION:

VINYL =  EXCELLENT-  (No serious scratches, no groove damage, no distortion, just the very lightest of spindle trails, etc. In normal daylight the vinyl appears perfectly clean, under a bright grading lamp I can make out a few very light paper/surface scuffs just visible on the vinyl's surface - although none of these correspond directly to any audible defects. On playback, there is some very faint surface noise just audibile during the silent run-in before the beginning of the tracks and occasionally during some of the quiet beginning sections of certain tracks. However, once the music gets going, it plays well - generally free from interuption from distortion, clicks, pops, etc. Overall, although it is not quite perfect, it is by no means ruined by these tiny imperfections and would still make a good honest copy for someone to play and enjoy (those searching for a museum piece would probably be best off avoiding this particular example though).
Note: for the purposes of this listing I have tested this LP on my Linn LP12 Sondek turntable - generally this is quite a critical test, but I must point out that I cannot guarantee exactly how this LP will sound on your turntable - common sense for most... but then this is ebay!!!)

SLEEVE = EXCELLENT- (No rips, tears, massive creases, defacing, etc. Being critical, it is definitely not as white as it once was and there are some light creases along the spine... but overall, a pretty good honest example of 51 year old record sleeve that has been used but well cared for thoughout it's life - see photos for further clarification)
