Description
STRAVINSKY, THE RITE OF SPRING, RICCARDO MUTI conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra, STILL SEALED Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL 1-519) stereo audiophile pressing. I think that Mobile Fidelity (also called Mo-Fi) did a better job over all with their Classical music reissues than Rock/Pop reissues. This one is still sealed in its original plastic bag.
Cover Condition: Still sealed. There is a hole punch at the bottom right corner. There is also some wear or remnants of a magnetic strip at the top center of front and back of the cover.
Vinyl Condition: Still sealed; should play like new.
GRADING POLICY: I will try to describe the cover, any inner sleeve, any inserts and the record as well as I can. I will also try to show photos of those areas of the cover, inner sleeve, insert and/or label of the record that I think would be of special interest to the potential buyer (such as significant wear, tear, seam splits, stickers, misprints, etc.). For the condition of the record, one should focus more on my description rather than the grading, as I will try to play grade the record whenever possible. Cover Grading:
Sealed: The item is still sealed inside the original shrink wrap or plastic bag that the item came in.
Mint (M): The item has been opened but never played; it is like new but just opened.
Near Mint (NM): The cover is nearly mint, with maybe a hint of corner wear from storage.
Excellent (E): The cover is solid and crisp with a couple of flaws or bits of wear here and there.
Very Good Plus (VG+): The cover is generally clean and still collectible with some wear and chipping.
Very Good (VG): The cover shows readily noticeable wear and flaws; not in collectible condition.
Good (G): The cover has much wear and tear; the item should not be purchased for the cover.
Poor (P): The cover has been trashed and may not even be in one piece.
Vinyl Grading: The grading will be relative to a mint record of the period manufactured by the same record company. Therefore, the standards will not be the same between, for example, a Japanese Pioneer pressing of the early 80’s and a U.S. Columbia pressing of the late 70’s. A Near Mint graded late 70’s U.S. Columbia record will play with considerably more background noise caused by cheaper vinyl material than a Near Mint graded early 80’s Japanese Pioneer record.
Sealed: The item is still sealed inside the original shrink wrap or plastic bag that the item came in.
Mint (M): The item has been opened but never played; it should play like new.
Near Mint (NM): The record and labels indicate that the record may have been played once or twice, with no scratches or scuffs; if play graded, the record plays almost as quietly as if the record were new.
Near Mint Minus (NM-): The labels may show 3 to 5 spindle trails or a hint of spindle hole wear; the record is clean and shiny with maybe a sleeve scuff or two on each side not audibly affecting play.
Excellent (E): The labels may show a few spindle trails or a bit of spindle hole wear; the record is still clean and shiny with a few sleeve scuffs not audibly affecting play.
Very Good Plus (VG+): The labels may show several spindle trails or some spindle hole wear; the record may show some scuffs generally not audibly affecting play but may cause a soft tick here and there.
Very Good (VG): The labels may show several spindle trails or readily visible spindle hole wear; the record may show several scuffs which may cause light background noise in places.
I do not sell records with vinyl in condition below VG (i.e., I do not sell records with feelable scratches, continual background noise, etc.)
SHIPPING POLICY: For U.S. destinations, the shipping cost for 1 LP delivered via US Post Office Priority Mail will be $6 if your State touches the Pacific Ocean, $8 if your State touches the Atlantic Ocean, and $7 if your State touches neither Ocean. For each additional LP, just add $2. A double LP will be treated like 2 LPs for shipping cost purposes. If you would like your item shipped using a different option offered by the US Post Office, please contact me. For destinations outside of the U.S., I will ship via US Post Office Express Mail only. Please contact me regarding the cost. I will NOT be responsible for uninsured items lost, damaged or delayed during transit. If you would like to pay for insurance, please contact me regarding the cost.
PAYMENT POLICY: I accept PayPal, money order and cashier’s check. Payment must be made within five (5) business days after the bidding for the item ends. If that timing does not work for you (because, for example, you will be on vacation, etc.), please contact me BEFORE bidding.
PERSONAL INTRODUCTION AND RETURN POLICY: I have collected records for over 20 years, and have decided to sell some records due to shortage of shelf space. Most of my records (especially records that I would offer on eBay) would probably be graded by most eBay sellers as NM. I grade more harshly, however, because I do not offer a money back guarantee. I have heard too many horror stories from other eBay sellers. None of my previous buyers have ever been disappointed with my records, however. If this sale goes smoothly, I will be back in a week or two to list additional rare records.
