Details: - Superb copy of this Prog rarity, 1st ever UK 1974 `Thick Vinyl` Issue on Transatlantic Records with original front die cut windshield `Gimmix` cover. Super scarce rock treasure - matrix ST-TRA 281 A - ST-TRA 281 B
Music: Stray was one of Britain's most underrated hard rock bands of the early Seventies.The music was distinguished by Del Bromham's guitar improvisations, interspersed with soft acoustic songs. Bromham also used a VCS3 synthesizer on studio recordings to add some effects.This album starts with a drum solo and the old rock`n`roll classic `Move It` which seems a strange choice but is superb, I can still remember hearing it for the first time on `John Peel` and being `knocked out by it`, there is plenty of `Light and Shade` here.
Formed in 1966. by vocalist Steve Gadd guitarist Del Bromham, bass player Gary Giles and drummer Steve Crutchley whilst attending the Christopher Wren School in London. Richard "Ritchie" Cole replaced Crutchley in 1968. They signed to Transatlantic Records in January 1970.
Trivia : There are two Iron Maiden connections to Stray. "All in Your Mind" from Stray's 1970 debut album was covered by Iron Maiden, and Maiden bassist Steve Harris' daughter Lauren has covered "Come On Over".
At one stage Charlie Kray, (brother of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie), was their manager

Vinyl: (Mint-) Thick Heavyweight Vinyl in fantastic condition, even under Halogen Spotlights you have to look hard to see the lightest of sleeve removal wisps, Looks almost unplayed!! .
Inserts - includes `Card` picture inner sleeve which forms part of the `Gimmix` van sleeve in Near Mint condition - even contains the original tissue lining inner!!
Sleeve: (NM) Classic `Die Cut` Robor `Gimmix` Sleeve in almost perfect condition, still has special purchase price £1.25 sticker on which I haven`t attempted to remove as It adds weight to dating this as a 1974 first issue. Sharp Spine & Opening, minimal edgewear, real nice copy
