While this group's name is often the impetus for String Driven Thing falsely acquiring a folk-rock classification, they were in actuality a psychedelia-laced rock band who happened to have electric violin as their lead instrument.
In 1973, when this album was initially released, very few rock bands featured the violin as prominently as they did. Violinist Grahame Smith helped blaze the trail for fiddlers like Ric Sanders and Robbie Steinhardt to openly strut their stuff within the confines of rock & roll.
The manic psychedelic pieces like "Sold Down the River," "Heartfeeder," and "Night Club" show the band at its finest but the gentler numbers highlight Pauline Adams' beautiful voice and are equally strong

LABELS: MINT
An immaculate set of clean, unmarked labels.
No spindle traces or any sign the record has ever been played
VINYL Visual: MINT
Both surfaces shine like-new and even under bright light there is barely a mark to be seen
VINYL Audio: MINT/EXCELLENT
Plays with superb sound quality and very little to fault.
Side One is perfect.
Side Two has a (very) few low-level ticks at the end of "People On The Street " but nothing I found in the slightest intrusive and in the overall context of this barely, if ever played copy, extremely minor
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
Apart from a little storage rub on the bottom edge the gatefold is clean and sharp with all spine text clear and bold
