Description

Summit Records of America Compilation of 6 Illinois garage & psych bands.  I haven't been able to find out anything on this comp. I've had a few 45's on this label, but none by any of these groups.  I would say this comp is circa 1967, possibly never released.  It has 2 songs from each band.  Bands include:  The Sounds of Us.  The Coming Generation.  The Rising Tides.  The Mavericks.  The Sound of Fury.  The Eighth Day.    It comes in a plain white jacket with a name written on the top right corner, "Judy Hartley Reginald".  The band "The Eighth Day" has song writing credits of Reginald.  Possibly this was owned by one of the former band members.  The Sounds of Us song 1 is a slower garage instrumental with sax and guitar solos.  Song 2 is a teener garage ballad.  The Coming Generation song 1 is soft pop psych.  Song 2 is great psych with with repeating siren throughout (very cool).   The Rising Tides song 1 is garage with nice fuzz break.  Song 2 is a garage teener.  The Mavericks song 1 is a teener garage track with Farfisa.  Song 2 is garage with Farfisa.   The Sound of Fury song 1 is a Teen Garage Ballad.   Song 2 is Garage Pop.  The Eighth Day Song 1 Killer! Garage with great psycho fuzz solo.  Song 2 is the highlight of the record.  Great Psych Garage Fuzz guitar, weird sounds and clanking bottles.  The vinyl is VG++ with a few stray lines, plays great with a little noise in between songs.  No skips or pops.  The labels are clean but have a few spindle trail marks.     U.S. Shipping - $3.95 confirmed media mail. $1.00 for each additional lp or cd purchased.  International shipping rates are $27.95 registered first class.   Add $4.00 for each additional LP.  Canadian buyers pay $22.95 registered first class mail and $2.00 for each additional lp.  All items must be paid for within 5 days after end of auction.
