This is not only one of the finest psych albums of the '90s, but is one that can stand proud beside many big bucks 60's album you'd care to name. Awesome stuff indeed!!

This is the VERY RARE ORIGINAL UK 1st PRIVATE PRESSING of the legendary and awesome debut LP by THE SUN DIAL entitled "OTHER WAY OUT" released in 1990.
The album came out on the band's own TANGERINE RECORDS label catalogue number MM 07. The vinyl is in superb EXCELLENT near MINT condition.
This rare original first edition Tangerine label private pressing was limited to only 1,000 copies worldwide.
This album is one of the best privately pressed PSYCH albums of the late 80's, and is only going to go up in price. 

Sun Dial's 'Other Way Out' LP is considered by many to be one of the highlights of neo psychedelia

           A True Psychedelic Classic

This is the original first private pressing from 1990 of this legendary British acid psych album. It's released on Tangerine Records (Cat.No. MM 07). The vinyl is in excellent near mint condition. The sleeve is in near excellent condition, just displays a little ringwear and small edge creases, partly due to the thin galvanized sleeve.

The Sun Dial, though a 'band' in every sense of the word, is in fact a vehicle for Gary Ramon, songwriter, vocalist, and mean acid guitarist. With Ramon at the helm and his band consisting of whoever felt right at the time, Sun Dial released five albums during the early to mid nineties before Ramon disbanded the group to concentrate on producing records for others. A couple more albums appeared when in 2003 Ramon resurrected the Sun Dial name to finish what he'd started. For me, none come anywhere near to matching the psychedelic majesty of 'Other Way Out', their debut album originally released on the tiny Tangerine label in 1990.

It's one of the best neo-psych albums around, and is perhaps the one to convince die hard 60s/70s vintage psych freaks that there are indeed some amazing psych albums to be had from the more recent crop of psychedelic bands. 'Other Way Out' contains six tracks of trippy 60s influenced psychedelic rock (subsequent CD releases succumb to the obligatory and rather annoying extra tracks syndrome, but we're going on the original vinyl here).

Without wanting to sound crass, the album reeks of LSD. Whether this is because Ramon was drenched in the stuff or he's got a post-grad degree in psychedelia is anyone's guess, but whatever, it works. The lyrics to every track sound like they were written whilst Ramon was halfway through a dayglo patchouli-scented acid trip. There's phased vocals weaving in and out of phased drums and liquid wah guitar solos chasing distant flutes into deep space. This isn't an album of meandering and drifting sonic journeys though; five of the six tracks are 'songs' proper, with verse/chorus structures. Only the last track, 'Lorne Blues', a bluesy acid-heavy guitar workout of slow riffing and phased drums, dispenses with the discipline and totally freaks out.

Sun Dial's 'Other Way Out' is a psych classic and not to be missed!!

Records Are Graded In The Following Way:

MINT (M): The record displays barely any signs of use, if any, with no marks or deterioration in sound quality. Extra items and cover are near perfect.

EXCELLENT (EX): Shows only minor signs of being played with very little lessening in sound quality. The Cover and extras will have some light wear and or creasing

VERY GOOD (VG): Has been played many times but has no major deterioration in sound quality, despite some noticeable surface marks and occasional light scratches. Cover and extras will have normal wear and tear but no major defects

GOOD (G): Has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and any extras may suffer from folding, scuffing, split spine, discoloration etc.

FAIR (F): The record is still just playable and has considerable surface noise and may even jump. Cover and contents will be torn stained and/or defaced.

POOR (P): The record will not play properly. Covers badly damaged or partly missing

+ or - : Indicates slightly better (+) or slightly lesser (-) condition than main grade

Packing Procedures: All 12" / LPs are securely and well packed in top quality material to avoid any unnecessary damage during transit. When posted the records are removed from the cover, if possible, and placed in a PVC outer protective sleeve to prevent sleeve splits in the post. I use brand new mailers, either the envelope style with thick stiffeners to prevent any sleeve bends in transit, or the "cruciform" style that wrap around the LP. I aim to dispatch all items within 48 hours of receiving payment. It is recommended that you choose the insurance option for higher value items. As stated above I cannot be held responsible for any item(s) lost or damaged in the post that are not shipped via insured / registered mail. I always obtain a certificate proof of posting receipt for every item sent, which will complete our transaction.
