On 17-Oct-10 at 23:08:39 AEDST, seller added the following information:The Sunsets – The Hot Generation 7” (orig. Australia MONO Festival FK-1818—1967)
Release date: August 1967.
On offer here is an ULTRA RARE original issue of the fifth (and final) 7” single by Newcastle – AUSTRALIAN group THE SUNSETS, entitled “The Hot Generation“. This is the group that evolved into TAMAM SHUD. Both sides of this 45 were written by vocalist/guitarist LINDSAY BJERRE, and were taken from the AUSSIE SURF FILM SOUNDTRACK “The Hot Generation“. The A-side of this 45 could very well be the FINEST AUSSIE 1960’s SURF ‘BEAT GENERATION’ TRACK EVER COMMITTED TO VINYL!

GRADING (also refer photos)
Record:
visual: FAIR : NUMEROUS scuffs & scratches, which are superficial for the most part (heavier scratch across side 2). A GAP-FILLER UNTIL A BETTER COPY TURNS UP – IMPOSSIBLY RARE IN ANY CONDITION - GOOD LUCK TRYING TO FIND ANOTHER!
audible: surface noise and crackle (side 1: VG acceptable / side 2: VG- few intermittent pops due to scratch). THE GOOD NEWS IS THAT THIS 45 PLAYS THROUGH WITHOUT ANY JUMPS OR SKIPS.
labels: side 1: minor spindle wear & some handling wear, writing ‘EDMEADES’ (twice) & remnants of a sticker/label; side 2: heavy spindle wear & some handling wear, writing ‘M.EDMEADES’. Please examine digital pics closely!
A GENUINELY RARE NUGGET THAT ALMOST NEVER TURNS UP BETTER THAN TRASHED. I HAVE OWNED A HANDFUL OVER THE YEARS, AND WITH THE EXCEPTION OF MY OWN PERSONAL COPY, THE REST HAVE NEVER SURPASSED THE GRADING OF THIS PARTICULAR COPY. AT LEAST THIS ONE PLAYS THROUGH DESPITE THE FLAWS. PLEASE KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN BIDDING!
