Description
PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. Because of that dedication, there should be no need to open a resolution dispute before working with us. Please keep in mind, we would prefer to continue to provide you the opportunity to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has become very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our well over +22,000 positive feedback. We use an ultrasonic KLAudio machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so.

MINTY CLEAN 1970 superior GERMAN LIBERTY
first print with superior GATEFOLD COVER (USA issue was a single-fold cover)
The very first HAWKWIND album...the hairy freaks delivering a bluesy hallucination of delights laced in acid dripping progressions ............................................... Recommended headphones focused listening for an "experience" potentially lifting one outta their chair ............................................... Soon to be a 60-odd year history, HAWKWIND continued on as the most famous British underground rock band. The group was formed in the late '60s by guitarist/singer Dave Brock, guitarist Mick Slattery and winds/singer Nik Turner. Adding liberal does of trippy/spacey sound effects and soon a booming rhythm-thrashing bass guitarist named 'Lemmy' ~ the group lifted off into space-rock travels
The 1970 presentation of HAWKWIND album begins with the infectious bluesy "Hurry On Sundown". Reflecting Dave Brock's previous experience as a London roadside street performer. Falling into a group effort together they created an acid-rock progressive unit improvising with guitar jams and psychedelic effects.
The first Hawkwind pairs nicely with the German 'Krautrock' scene, both pioneers in adventurous experimental ventures."Hawkwind" album highs include "The Reason Is" ... a wash of sound waves, layered by light touches of guitar then ominous repetitive bass lines. On songs like this, Hawkwind's similarity to Amon Duul II is particularly pronounced.
"Be Yourself" is probably best of these lengthy pieces, with an insistent melody line that gives way to a speedy, sound-washed, electronically-charged jam (starring Nik Turner's echo sax accompanied by Lloyd-Langton's acidic guitar reels). The real blueprint for future Hawkwind festivities.
"Seeing It As You Really Are" is another lengthy hypnotic jam building up with bass and sonic sweeps, the manic solo from Turner towards the exit.
"Paranoia (Part 1)" is a brief, continual statement from a single riff building up tension, before mellow bass-led "Paranoia (Part 2)" establishes itself.
"Mirror Of Illusion" delivers an infectious hallucinogenic melody laced by trippy atmospheric generator-effects over-layering the effective track.
Altogether the album's geared in same direction as Pink Floyd's a couple or so years before, yet ran into much maligned so called music critics citing the album as 'too weird.' An early 70's snippet by failed music publication 'Creem' magazine, and their negative review of this album, was omething about "Beam me up Scotty" drivel with no content. Yeah, no James Taylor tunes here :-/
