Super Rare....Original 1974 first pressing vinyl in wild multi-folds laminated gatefold cover, an obscure custom design that more than a few should love...
Very Rare Austrian Progressive Krautrock with Paternoster edges and issued in tiny number by CBS for the Austrian market. Comes housed in amazing Fully laminated 5 Panel Foldopen Cover... hardly ever seen...ACID was an early 70's underground PROGRESSIVE rock cult trio from Vienna Austria. Originally founded by Herbert Novacek (vocals, bass), Robert Ponger (keys, Hammond B3) and Rudi Staeger (drums) released their first long-playing record called "ACID" in 1974. Soon afterwards they recruited guitarist Hans "professional" Zekar into their line up and drummer Rudi Staeger brought in his spectacular magic show, along with his glowing percussion work...
This is the first of two very collectible ACID albums...Here, the early stage of ACID features an organ/keyboards led trio, with added guest guitarist who plays some thrilling loud guitar parts (made a full member around a year or so later)... The overall sound is very interesting, with memorable tunes that display a mix of overground and underground styles and variations quite nicely, combining infectious original tracks growingon the listener with repeat plays, really locking on... note somwhat like a more accessible Paternoster which was probably just a coincidence... the first track on the album is a classic J J Cale, including a cool impact guitar passage.
Top psych/prog world collectors rate this album highly, an album without great pretensions but rather a true honest approach with heavy leanings on the Hammond b3 organ and, again, catchy memorable songs...highlights include "Midnight Queen" and the 7:22 "Blindman" with wah-wah and heavy handed B3 organ...

CONDITION: The Cover: frafile and delicate gatefold, a very unique fully laminaed 5 panel fold open cover that was probably very difficult to produce, no wonder such a small pressing...Overall rated VG+(+) all solid, slighly down graded only because one of the inside corner panels has a light corner crease and there is a light handling crease across the front cover and slight one on the lower left corner area, otherwise solid and readibly collectible looking and without light creases would give EX grade ...so rare....
The Vinyl: glossy smooth and clean over both sides, "M-" play graded top level without audio problem...both labels are clean
